Buyer Update & Obligations

With over 5200 buyers on Tabak’s database, representing purchasing power of over $6.5 billion, we remain extremely grateful for your support – and the successful sale of over 80% of the businesses we take to market is by way of our database.  As buyers, you have shared with us what you have available to invest, and we try not to send you opportunities that are grossly mismatched, however we will always straddle buyer groups e.g. a $450k business will be sent to our B and C buyers; and a $2.5m business will be sent to our A and A+ buyers nationwide.

We do seek Confidentiality Agreements for every opportunity that we take to market, as that is the promise we make to each vendor – a CA specific to their business will be completed by each prospective purchaser, and our online CA format hopefully ensures this is relatively painless for you.  Alternatively, if you are known to a Tabak broker, a quick call or email to try and identify specific sectors may short circuit completing a CA – particularly if you are a trade buyer seeking specific industries, or sub-sectors.  We do appreciate that most of our flyers do not identify the business, and many of them are sufficiently generic that it can be difficult to tell exactly what service, product or industry sector is involved.

Once you have submitted a CA then you will be called by the Tabak broker, either prior to the Information Memorandum being emailed, or within a week or ten days of it being sent.  Again, our obligation to our vendors is to regularly report back to them on who has viewed their data and what level of interest is being shown in their business.  We will always follow up with you, often 2-3 times if we don’t hear from you, so if you have dismissed an opportunity, then please let us know (email; phone or txt), so we don’t need to bother you further with additional calls.

As brokers we are happy to meet buyers who may have specific requirements, as the more we know about you, the better we can match opportunities with the right buyers.  Occasionally a sale is transacted “off market” where a vendor is seeking major confidentiality and we are only allowed to “cherry pick” potential buyers, rather than distribute our marketing collateral across the relevant buyer profiles, however this is not a regular occurrence.

We are always happy to take feedback on board and would love to hear from you, if there are ways you believe we can be doing things better.
